Snowy returns to Canberra for a special headline show at Dissent Cafe & Bar on Saturday 4 July.

Snowy is the alias of Melbourne-based, Wagga Wagga-born musician Liam “Snowy” Halliwell (The Ocean Party, Popfilter).

A singular voice in Australian songwriting, Snowy has built a reputation for heartfelt storytelling, sharp lyricism and captivating performances that blur the lines between folk, indie rock and alt-country. Whether performing solo or with a full band, Snowy's songs carry the kind of emotional weight that lingers long after the final note.

Joining Snowy is former Canberra folk favourite Strawberry Prince. Once a beloved fixture of the local scene and now forging a new path under Snowy's wing, Strawberry Prince returns with a collection of songs that balance intimacy, wit and hard-earned wisdom.

Opening the night are Angel Waste, a fresh new force in Canberra's underground. Describing themselves as post-dole wave, the band's jagged guitars, deadpan observations and restless energy make them one of the most intriguing new acts to emerge from the capital. Angel Waste members recently bonded over Snowy's heart wrenching epic - 'Age Difference' - the Bandcamp only closing track to Snowy Band's 2024 LP of the same name. October 2015 at The Phoenix was a special time. Listen to 'Age Difference' here.

Three generations of songwriters. Three perspectives. One unforgettable night.
