Soapbox Science 2025 Volunteer Introduction Session Melbourne and Sydney
Event description
Soapbox Science 2025 – Volunteer Introduction Session
An exclusive session for our 2025 Melbourne and Sydney Volunteers
Join us for the Soapbox Science 2025 – Volunteer Introduction Session, where you’ll learn how to get involved in one of Australia’s most dynamic science communication events! This session is for individuals interested in volunteering for Soapbox Science Melbourne or Sydney 2025, which showcases the groundbreaking work of women and non-binary scientists in an engaging, inclusive, and public space.
We’re looking for enthusiastic and reliable volunteers who can commit a minimum of 3–4 hours per week over a 2.5-month period in the lead-up to the events. Volunteers will play a key role in logistics, speaker support, marketing, social media, photography, community engagement, and on-the-day coordination.
At this introductory session, you’ll:
Learn more about the Soapbox Science initiative and its impact
Understand the roles and responsibilities available
Meet the organising team and ask questions
Find out how to apply and what support will be provided
This is a great opportunity for students, early-career professionals, and science enthusiasts who want to build skills in event planning, communication, and outreach—while supporting diversity and visibility in STEM.
Your support will help amplify the voices of inspiring researchers and create a memorable experience for the public.
We can’t wait to meet you!
