Soapbox Session - March

Are your family and friends tired of listening to you talk about your special interest, passion or topic of the day? Well we're not! 

Sign up for a 7-minute uninterrupted slot to infodump your heart out or just come along to watch/listen.

Participate at your own comfort level. You are welcome to lurk with cameras/mics on or off, or join the conversation by text or voice - whatever works for you. 

Everyone connected to the neurodivergent community is welcome to attend (but infodump slots are reserved for ND-identifying or questioning folks). 

What to expect

- Welcome from the hosts and explanation of how it works

- Early sign ups in the chatbox

- Someone volunteers to go first, 7-min timer is set and off they go. The rest of us show our enthusiasm in the chatbox!

- They conclude their infodump or timer goes off - whichever happens first. A few minutes for comments and questions.

- Next person's turn, or if none then opportunity for anyone else to put their hand up

- We will have time for 3-4 slots

- At the end of session, the hosts thank everyone and we all sign off a little more knowledgeable about a niche subject!

What we ask of you

- Don't worry if you are late, or want to leave early - intro's and farewells are optional and by chat.

- You are welcome to engage in whatever form you feel up for - by text, mic, camera or none.

- Let's keep things positive and encouraging. We are here to learn from each other and have fun.

- Usual group rules apply - maintaining privacy, mutual respect and an awareness of differing and sometimes conflicting needs will keep the good things going.

- We generally talk about pretty benign topics, but you never know what might come up. If anything triggers distress for you, please take care of your own wellbeing first and foremost, whether that's taking a break from the conversation and/or reaching out to someone you trust.

• This event is intended for adults aged 18 years and over. Mature topics may be discussed.
