Social Crackpots and Basket Cases Sessions (Oct/Nov)
Description
Get together with other self-confessed "crackpots and basket cases" to enjoy clay play and coiled weaving in a relaxed space where we can connect through craft.
Following our recent Clay Play session in October there will be a follow-up weaving/adornment session in November.
Saturday 28 November
AFTERNOON 1pm - 4pm
Mingle Community Space, Whitlam
PLEASE READ THE INFO BELOW REGARDING PREPARATIONS FOR THIS SESSION:
If you are intending to build on your fired/glazed clay bases (and don't already have your own weaving supplies) you have some options:
You can purchase a complete starter kit from Sal (including needles, plain and coloured raffia) OR
You can pick and choose your own supplies from The Raffia Connection.
For all weavers:
Sal will be putting in a bulk order through The Raffia Connection.
(This way we only pay one lot of postage).
You can email seasonsofself@gmail.com to pre-order before the workshop - last orders in by end of day Sunday 22 November please.
As always, you are welcome to bring your own project to work on, if this is your prefered option, just purchase a standard ticket $15 full/$10 concession.
We look forward to seeing you!
- Sally (basketcase/weaving lover) and Shirali (crackpot/clay lover)
In a world that feels like it's unravelling, it can be heartening to transform disparate threads into a cohesive form. More than ever, we need to do tactile, tangible things. Intentional actions, with real people, in real time.
