Social Game - Brewers cup 2025 April

Hello Cairns Coffee Lovers

For those who make black coffee at home. This one is for you.

We will have a little social game, not just for competition, but using this as an opportunity to learn from each other and share ideas. On the competition, I will ask some questions about the competitors' methods, what recipe they used, and why they changed their settings in the competition... We had very good time last time to tape into each brewer's recipe. I hope we can have some fun to share how everyone's brewing techniques and learn from each other.

Rules :

1. We will use the same coffee(1kg) for all the competitors in this competition. Thanks to Sergio for providing the coffee from Jack Muart! We will be using the same water as well to make it simple.

2. 30-minute practice (800g: 100g for each competitor)

3. Bring your own drippers & grinder ( Niche duo grinder & commandant grinder will be provided if you don't have your own; plenty of drippers you could borrow)

4. Each competitor will get 50g coffee each round only & 8 min brewing time. If you run out of coffee and out of time. It will be disqualified.

5. One-on-one knockout competition. I will be asking questions in between to help people understand what's happening

6. Competitor will need to provide a minimum of 150ml of coffee for judging. More is okay, you can keep it.

7. Judging by blind tasting. Everyone has a vote, and if the results are equal, an extra vote from the head judge will be given to the final winner.
