Social Impact Book Club #3 - Redundant Charities: Escaping the cycle of dependence by Weh Yeoh
Online Event
Event description
We welcome you to register to attend the Social Impact Book Club - for those passionate about Social Impact
This Book Club we will be discussing Redundant Charities: Escaping the cycle of dependence by Weh Yeoh.
The format we have chosen does NOT rely on you needing to have read the book each time, you are still able to attend, gather the key learnings, and participate in the Q&A/ discussion to increase practitioner knowledge.
Format below:
- Fully online book club, meets every 2 months (with summer break)
- Books announced prior to sessions to allow time to purchase & read
- Each session has a volunteer to lead it - volunteer picks the book (must be social impact aligned, non-fiction)
- First 5-10 mins of the meeting is a casual chat/icebreaker
- The volunteer will present for 15 (ish) mins on the book - key learnings, takeaways, their thoughts (this can be as structured/unstructured as you wish)
- Other participants are encouraged to add questions into the chat
- Volunteer presenter will answer questions/ start the conversation from there
This month our volunteer presenter is Abbey Pantano, you can read more about Abbey here.
