Event description

In our constantly developing world, the need for more efficient and sustainable ways of living is rapidly becoming a must. Farmwall is a response to this call to action. They dare to imagine how our cities can be transformed into food producing ecosystems. They believe our cities can feed our planet, and that we can achieve wellbeing for all through education, sustainability and good nutrition.

Geert Hendrix is the Founder and CEO at Farmwall, an agrifood tech startup that is developing new technologies and business models to transform our cities into food producing ecosystems and to enhance fresh produce accessibility in the city.

Geert grew up in Belgium, and made it to Australia selling sour beers, as a pioneer, innovator, entrepreneur, urban farmer, designer, aquascaper, foodie, and regeneration enthusiast he is passionate about creating new, sustainable ways of doing business that give back to the planet and its people.  He was sick and tired of the injustice towards our planet and the hostility of the daily grind, set out to create something that had purpose and which could stand on its own two feet – the result was Farmwall.

Farmwall was lucky to be one of the few businesses chosen to present their innovation during Meghan and Harry’s visit with Linda Dessau The Hon. Governor of Victoria and husband Mr Anthony Howard.

“It’s possible to combine food production, design, and nature through innovative science and technologies. If we grow our food in coherence with natural ecosystems and implement this mindset in designing our living spaces, we create a beautiful, healthier environment for ourselves, as well as solving major issues that cause climate change and pollution.” – Geert
