Event description

The Inner East Primary Care Partnership is proud to invite you to the launch of our Social Inclusion Framework.

“Being included in the society in which one lives is vital to the material, psychosocial and political empowerment that underpins social wellbeing and equitable health” (WHO 2008)

COVID-19 has highlighted the importance of social inclusion and the benefits of being connected with communities we are all part of. Now more than ever it is important that we recognise and address the factors that enable and inhibit inclusion in society. But how can we do that? Come along to the launch to hear about this Framework and to see how it can be used to guide actions we can all take to address this complex social issue. The launch will include a demonstration of how the famework can be applied in practice.

Keynote Speaker - Patricia Faulkner AO

Patricia’s career spans the most senior levels of the public, private, and community sectors and is currently on a number of Boards, and is Chair of Jesuit Social Services. She was Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services in Victoria and the the Chair of the Australian Social Inclusion Board.

The aim of the Social Inclusion Board was to achieve better outcomes for the most disadvantaged in the community and to improve social inclusion in society as a whole.

The Inner East Health Promotion partnership adopted the definition of social inclusion developed by the Australian Social Inclusion Board to guide our work. We are delighted to have Patricia join us at this Webinar to launch the Social Inclusion Framework.
