Social Isolation and Loneliness webinar
Description
Responding to Social Isolation and Loneliness
Social isolation and loneliness can affect anyone, at any stage of life. This practical webinar explores how frontline professionals and volunteers can better understand, identify and respond to experiences of social isolation and loneliness.
Participants will explore the difference between social isolation and loneliness, the factors that can contribute to these experiences, and the potential impacts on wellbeing. The session will also introduce practical approaches for building connection, including person-centred practice, active listening, culturally safe and trauma-informed approaches, social prescribing and other tools for supporting connection.
Through discussion, reflection, and practical scenarios, participants will have opportunities to consider how they can recognise signs of social isolation and loneliness, respond appropriately, and connect people with relevant supports and services.
This webinar is a non-accredited micro-credential and is suitable for frontline professionals and volunteers who support people and communities. To receive the Certificate and E-Badge each learner submits a short reflection piece following the session.
Participants will explore:
Understanding social isolation and loneliness
