Event description

Social Sailing on a Sunday with Sailability WA

Participants are invited to come join us for a morning sailing in our accessible sailing boats. We have 4 Hansa dinghies available to be sailed supported by a volunteer/ or a support person with sailing experience. If you are not a member of Sailability WA you are welcome to sail with us by purchasing a ticket!

All our volunteers are experienced sailors willing to help people with disabilities give sailing a go.

Not sure you have enough sailing experience? All OK, you just need to be willing to give sailing in a dinghy a go! Social Sailing on a Sunday morning is all about learning a bit about sailing in a Hansa dinghy in company on the river.

For all Dinghy sailing events we have a safety boat driver and crew on the water to assist if needed.

Please let us know what support you require to safely get into and around a boat, and if you will be attending this event with a support person.  Please also let us know if your support person has sailing experience and if you would like to sail with them!

When you arrive at the venue please find your way to the dinghy division area to check in/ sign in with Sailability WA.

Look for the Sailability flags set up in the area outside dinghy division, we are situated there.

- Arrive between 09:30AM and 10AM. check in with us, put on a pfd and have a briefing before making your way to your HANSA 303 for the morning.

 - Sail between 10AM and 12PM on the nominated sailing day.

- After you have checked in with your volunteer skipper (or crew) we will introduce you to the boat you will be sailing in, and provide some assistance to embark. hoists available if needed.

Please text or call 0404 145 499 if you have booked a ticket and can't make it on the day, as we would like to let our volunteers know.
