Soft Hours - Soft Landing #1
Description
Talking about life, death, and everything in between.
Death is one of those things everyone knows is coming, but somehow nobody really wants to talk about. (Ticket cost does not include food or drinks. Please do purchase something from the venue during the event too.)
So we're going to.
We'll use The Final Gift: An End-of-Life Planning Journal as a starting point, chat through some of its chapters and prompts, and talk about our own thoughts, fears and questions around death.
But honestly, this is mainly about life.
What makes a life feel well lived?
What are we scared of?
What do we want more of?
What would we want people to know?
And what happens when someone actually passes, what are we supposed to do?
Come alone. Come with a friend. Talk as much or as little as you want.
FAQs
- Is this a grief support group?
No. Soft Landing isn't a support group or therapy session.
We're doing this because death is something we don't really talk about until we're forced to. If you've lost someone, it may naturally come up in conversation, but you don't need to be grieving or have experienced a loss to join.
This is more about opening up a conversation around life and death while we're still here, our thoughts, fears, questions, experiences and even the practical things we probably should know before someone passes.
Come to talk, listen, or just be curious. There are no right answers and no pressure to share.
- What happens during a Soft Landing?
Think less seminar, more conversation.
We'll:
Have a few drinks / snacks and settle in
Talk through selected chapters from the book
Share our thoughts, questions and fears around death
Talk about what makes a life feel well lived
Discuss the things we'd want to know or prepare for when someone passes
Let the conversation wander wherever it naturally goes
There isn't a fixed agenda.
- Is this going to be depressing or scary?
We hope not. 😌
Death is part of the conversation, but life is really the main event. We'll talk about relationships, regrets, joy, meaning, the things we care about and how we'd like to spend the time we have.
- What does my ticket include?
