Description

Welcome to the another season of Sunday Swap. This is an afternoon of creating, giving, and enjoying. Think of it as a "community chest" come to life, limited to just 12 people.

How it works:

  • The math is simple so your brain doesn’t have to work hard.

    • Bring 6: Bring 6 of the same handmade items you’ve created.

    • Take 6: Leave with 6 different gifts made by others.

  • We value the effort over the "aesthetic perfection." If you created it, it counts.

  • Limited to 12 people total.

What counts as "handmade"?

Honestly, whatever you’re currently obsessed with.

✨ A batch of crochet bookmarks

✨ Ceramic fidget stones or magnets

✨ Sourdough loaves or jars of granola

✨ Poetry or sticker sheets

Public Garden is packed to the brim. Shopping is expensive. The Sunday Swap is none of those things.

Come and leave knowing someone new.

Please note we’re hosted by romme., so we ask that you support the venue by purchasing at least one drink or food item during the event.

Cancellation: If you are no longer able to attend, please refund your ticket so someone else can take your place.

FAQs

  • What are the rules for food items?

We’re operating on a "Friendship Basis."

    1. Hygiene: Please prepare your items in a clean environment with the same care you’d use for your best friend or family.

    2. Transparency: Label your items with ingredients for those with allergies/dietary requirements.

    3. The Disclaimer: This is a private social hang, not a commercial food business. I know the licensing rules in SG, so let's keep this simple and "friend-to-friend." If you aren't comfortable with home-prepped food, simply don't take the food items. No one will be offended!

  • I’m not a "professional" creator. Can I still come?

Please do. This is for the hobbyists and creators. We value the intention and the time you spent making something more than "market-ready" perfection.

If you created it, it’s welcome.

  • Can I bring something I bought but "customised"?

The spirit of the swap is creation.

If you bought a plain notebook and hand-painted the cover, that counts!

If you created a design and printed it on bags or socks, that counts too!

If you just bought a pack of pens and put a bow on them, that’s a bit too close to "store-bought." Try to lean into the making process.

  • What if I don't like all items brought by others?

Look, let’s be for real: the swap is a bit of a surprise! Part of the magic is ending up with something you never would have bought for yourself. That said, if you’re coming here with a "consumer" mindset, this event isn’t for you.

I repeat. If you’re going to be disappointed because you didn't "get your money's worth" out of a community swap, please do not rsvp.

We’re here for the softness, the creativity, and the connection, not a return on investment.

  • Can I come alone?

Coming alone and talking to strangers is a big part of Soft Hours, but you’re just as welcome to take it at your own pace, whether that means joining a conversation or simply enjoying the swap quietly.
