Description

a series of “soft spot”(s)

This monthly workshop seeks to provide a reflective, nurturing, fun and connecting space for building a more beautiful world, recognising the external and systemic factors that impact young QTPOC.

A spread of art materials will be provided for free each session as we explore different themes together. Ra is here to guide and facilitate the space as needed, however, the community built through group is where the magic will happen

This workshop is free and is exclusively for Queer and Trans People of Colour. Absolutely no art making experience is required!

Ra (they/he) ~ Art Therapist

An anti-colonial and abolitionist practitioner with a master’s in Art Therapy (PACFA and ANZACATA registered). They were born in Egypt, raised in NSW and currently working predominantly in Vic, NT and NSW.

They are passionate about helping people move through individual and collective trauma through art/culture based modalities that connect us to ourselves and each other. They believe deeply in the power of art, justice and collectivity towards sustainable and revolutionary healing.

They have experience working with CALD, POC and queer/ trans communities both remote and urban. They work through narrative, somatic, art and clay therapy frameworks, informed by a non-pathologising practice.

As a Queer/ Trans person of colour, Ra understands that we all have our personal and shared experiences of pain and joy, identity and disillusionment, hardships and strengths. By safely connecting with the beautiful and more intimidating parts of ourselves, at our own pace, we can build a better world for ourselves and each other, together.
