Introduction to Soil Microscopy Workshop

Exciting news – GeoCatch now has a microscope available for local farmers to use and explore their soil up close!

To kick things off, we’re hosting a hands-on training session with soil microscopy expert Ellen Walker from EarthWhile Australia. Ellen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, making this an opportunity not to be missed!

The workshop will concentrate on the actual skills of soil microscopy rather than the soil health aspects, and will cover:

• Effective use and care of microscopes

• Taking and preparing soil samples for microbial assessment

• Identification of key soil microbes – bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and nematodes

• Qualitatived assessment techniques to evaluate soil health.

This workshop is idea for farmers and growers with a basic understanding of soil health.
