Event description

Join Renew’s Sydney Central Branch on Tuesday 3 June at Kensington Park Community Centre, or online for this free event.

In February this year, applications opened for the NSW Government’s Solar for Apartment Residents (SoAR) Grant Program. This event aims to promote and explain the scheme, the technology required for solar installations in apartment buildings, and how to deliver a quality system that maximises returns.

If you live in an apartment, are on a strata committee, are a strata manager, or are simply interested in the technologies needed to deliver Solar PV to an apartment building, this event will provide you with plenty of guidance and valuable information. It will also offer advice on ensuring that if you install a solar system, you get the best performing system possible.

We have three excellent speakers all experts in the area:

  • Ethan Burns from Sustainability Now who has helped a lot of strata buildings reduce their energy and water consumption. Ethan will discuss logistical details on getting systems installed, discuss possible solutions, and how the SoAR grant assists.  He will show some case examples where solar systems have been installed on strata buildings and the benefits gained.
  • William Astee, Housing Partnerships Manager from Allume Energy is passionate about making shared solar accessible for residents in social housing multi-tenancy residencies. Ensuring these end users are provided the key social, environmental and financial benefits that come with taking on solar. William will explain how their revolutionary Solshare system works. It allows individual apartments to be connected to a single roof solar system and have the loads managed so as to optimise use of the solar energy in all of the apartments connected.
  • Avinesh Naidu from Kean Energy. is a consultant specialising in solar energy, with deep industry knowledge and technical expertise. He has over a decade of experience in designing, engineering, project and contract management, and the deployment of renewable energy assets. Avinesh will discuss how to ensure that you obtain quality in your solar installation which is so essential to ensure that you make the most energy saving and best ROI.

You can attend this event in person at the Kensington Park Community Centre or online.
