Event description

A public lecture given by the distinguished Professor Glenn Solomon (Hicks chair of Quantum Materials, University of Adelaide) to commemorate the UNESCO International Day of Light and the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. The lecture will be followed by complementary refreshments and demonstrations of physics experiments.

We are a student chapter from the University of Adelaide, supported by OPTICA (https://www.optica.org/) and SPIE (https://spie.org/). Both are leading non-profit organisations with a focus on optics and photonics and their applications. They organise international conferences, workshops and exhibitions while supporting students, academics, and professionals to achieve their desired career goals.We would like to invite your students to be part of our student chapter. Our role is to extend the benefits offered by OPTICA and SPIE to different communities using local knowledge and connections. We are engaged in a variety of activities, ranging from outreach, to hosting public lectures and assisting students with science communication.
