Sat, 21 Dec, 2pm - 5:30pm EST

Event description

Let's move with the deepening darkness.
Let's listen for the body, breath, earth song that sings wisdom through winter dreams.
Let's call for the sun's return, to warm bones, spark hope, and illuminate our dancing prayers.

5Rhythms® is a dynamic movement meditation practice - a workout for body and soul. There are no steps to follow in this improvisational movement methodology. Instead, we show up, tune in, and move with what is alive in us.

All are welcome here: all bodies, races, religions, genders, sexual orientations, abilities & disabilities, and movement experience.

Sat Dec 21, 2024, 2 - 5:30pm

Layah, a white woman with wavy dark blond hair, is spinning in a turquoise flowing dress, in front of a window where light streams in.

Layah is a healing artist ~ a movement facilitator, dancer, and musician. Layah first fell for 5Rhythms in her late teens and for the last 20+ years has steeped herself in movement meditation practice. Passionate about offering people sacred space to experience motion as medicine, Layah has facilitated expressive movement since 2003 for all ages on all kinds of dance floors: classes, gyms, offices, barns, fields, and studios. Her work is infused with expressive enthusiasm, a fascination with the weave of ritual and improvisational art, and a reverent love of creative practice as a transformational and political act. Layah is a member of the International Conscious Movement Teachers Association, and a certified 5Rhythms teacher accredited with the 5Rhythms Teachers Association. All study hours with Layah count as prerequisites towards future 5Rhythms teacher trainings.
