Eldest Daughters’ Somatic Self-Care Saturday
Description
Join us on 10/10 for Somatic Self-Care Saturday - a space for you to reflect on healing through movement and discussion, while connecting with fellow eldest daughters and finding community.
This workshop is a healing space for eldest daughters who have long carried the weight of responsibility, care, and quiet resilience. As the ones often expected to “hold it together,” eldest daughters especially in immigrant and multicultural families tend to grow up too fast, putting their own needs aside in order to support others.
Through guided somatic exercises and a values-based activity, participants will be invited to explore the values that have carried them thus far, and clarify ways of moving forward with more alignment and balance.
Please note, we will be doing some movement, so participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and athletic shoe!
More information about the host and facilitator:
Laurie Hang Hutter, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500 is a certified yoga therapist, educator, and nonprofit founder based in Los Angeles.
As the eldest daughter of Chinese-origin, Vietnamese boat refugees, she built her Presence methodology from her own lineage, teaching nervous system regulation as a way to unlearn inherited patterns of overfunctioning and self-erasure.
Selfcare Atelier is Laurie Hang's yoga therapy practice, offering private sessions, corporate wellness programs, and facilitator training built on the Presence methodology. Her work centers caregivers, eldest daughters, and community leaders who carry more than they were ever taught to name.
Hilltop Sanctuary is Laurie Hang's private retreat venue in the hills outside Los Angeles, as the home for embodiment work, day retreats, and facilitator trainings. Wide views and an open floor plan give the nervous system room to unclench and the mind room to wander; it's the perfect space for rest and creative, expansive thinking.
