🌧️ CHECK! - Somatics of Our Collective Survival
🌧️CHECK! POSTPONED TIL FALL Somatics of our Collective Survival
With Morgan Vanderpool, LCSW (they/he)
What does it look & feel like to survive together in a time of collapse—while honoring our bodies, our aliveness, our Earth, and each other?
Our climate and political systems are fracturing, and the inherited systems of colonialism, white supremacy, and capitalism are putting up a gnarly fight as they collapse. Everyday, we are feeling the intensity & heat of all of this in our neural systems — all while co-learning how to lovingly build the present and future we need to survive, together.Â
This experiential workshop invites participants into a more loving & capable relationship with our survival. We will do this by focusing on strengthening our connection to somatic rhythms, neuro-coherence, connection, play, and collective relational skill-building.
Through somatic & body percussive practices, movement, reflection, and relational exercises, collective trauma specialist and educator, Morgan Vanderpool, offers an embodied exploration of adrenaline as life force—something to steward rather than fear, ignore or avoid. Together we’ll practice bottom-up neural system practices to interrupt calcified patterns, and cultivate connection, choice, and aliveness.
Rooted in somatics, trauma-responsive facilitation, liberation practice, and collective care, this workshop is both playful and profound—part ritual, part neural system lab, part community movement practice.
In This Workshop We’ll Explore:
How survival responses live in the body—and how they can become sites of creativity and connection
“Body Drums” as portals for coherence, rhythm, and embodied communication
Bottom-up practices for working with stress, activation, and collective uncertainty
Movement & relational exercises for building neuro-coherence & choice-based connection
Practice space for connecting with our capacity to fight for & protect one another (a.k.a. navigating adrenalin’s intensity while staying connected to self & others)
Poetry/writing, movement, and liberatory somatic practice as resources for collective survival Thanks for playing
