Event description

Vertical dance pioneers BANDALOOP dance company premiere their new work Somewhere to Land as part of the RISING TIDES, the City of Alameda's climate arts initiative.

Somewhere to Land is a new work inspired by the city of Alameda's visionary plan to transform a portion of the former naval air station at Alameda Point into an ecological park. Taking root in hopes for rewilding and for sustainable futures, Somewhere to Land  will be performed on the facade of Hangar 25, one of two buildings which have been slated for demolition to allow for the construction of the future 'De-Pave Park.'

Come early to enjoy beverages from Hangar 25 resident companies Alameda Soda Company, Urban Legend Cellars and Dashe Cellars and neighbors Almanac Brewery, and check out crafts and information booths from local arts and climate nonprofits. Bar opens at 6.30pm

Discover the full flight of Alameda’s creative spirits - tour the St George Spirits distillery and tasting room:

The world-renowned St George Spirits distillery is five minutes down the road from the performance location. Reserve a discounted distillery tour before the performance ($15 instead of $35), and receive a $5 discount on purchases in the bottle store.

Somewhere to Land is an Anchor Arts Project of the RISING TIDES climate arts initiative. The Initiative is supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies and the City of Alameda.

Project sponsors for Somewhere to Land include the California Arts Council, Radium Presents, Brookfield Properties and Michael Lane Homes.
