'Somatic Sobriety' Online Workshop
Event description
A monthly workshop to explore somatic practices as part of your unique sobriety journey! ALL levels of experience with somatics or recovery are welcome and affirmed here, and these workshops are curated with newcomers in mind. Longterm sobriety, or sober-curious? Seasoned practitioner, or never practiced somatics before? Come on in!
You will be invited into meditative movement, sensory exploration, and gentle breathwork, to cultivate your attentional tone and familiarity with your embodied experience. There will also be opportunities for written reflection and group sharing. This workshop will contain a variety of practice options, but zero commands: everything here is optional while we seek to generate basic safety, dignity, and connection.
Our facilitator is a trained and experienced somatic guide and educator, with a distinct passion for recovery-informed, trauma-sensitive embodiment practices. She has longterm sobriety from substances addiction, and extensive experience facilitating recovery spaces.
PLEASE NOTE:
Please join from a space that allows privacy to the other attendees. Because video meeting is a challenging medium by which to connect wholly and authentically, we ask that participants
strive to be as present as possible in the digital space. Ideally, this means our cameras are on during group
discussion, and that we are not dividing our attention with simultaneous activities. To help create brave and
confidential spaces, these workshops are never recorded.
(This workshop also takes place on the last Sunday of each month, IN PERSON! Details and registration can be found via this link!)
