Song and Soup Circle with Mama White Lion
Description
Soup & Song Circle
Join us for collaborative community gathering with song, sound, and soup.
Mele, of Mama White Lion will take us on a 2-hour ceremonial song journey to celebrate the crossing of the threshold of Beltane.
Come gather in circle for an evening of grounding, connection, voice and song as we honour the turning of the season and deepen our community weaving.
Together we’ll move through a gentle ceremonial journey including :
Grounding meditation — arriving fully in the body and the present moment
Voice activation — opening the voice and connecting with its natural expression
Shared song & rhythm — exploring traditional and intuitive songs together
Song sharing — space to offer and receive songs within the circle
Somatic integration — grounding the experience through the body
Nourishing soup — sharing food and connection as we gently close the circle
No musical experience is needed — just come as you are, with a willingness to listen, participate and explore.
Please bring these items, if you have them...
Your drum, rattle, clap sticks or instrument of choice
Your song journal
A bottle of water
A cushion for your comfort
This will be warm and welcoming space to reconnect with rhythm, voice, body, community and the changing season.
Babes in arm and all people over 12 are welcome (I find it easier to facilitate the deeper spaces when younger children are not navigating witching hour in the space).
How the event will flow :
The first part of our time together will be the 2 hour facilitated workshop.
Then stay on for soup dinner, made with love, and offered as part of the fundraising efforts for the Huon Women's Health Collective. All of the funds raised will go back into community, offering free events, health education and supporting our locals.
We'll also hosting a Community Cornucopia Raffle! If you can, please bring an item from your garden, pantry, art'n'craft corner etc, to donate for the raffle! Be in it to win it! Bring cash to buy your raffle tix :)
Getting there and parking :
Meet us for a 5pm start at The Gallery, 5 Garthfield Street Cygnet.
A small amount of street parking is available on Garthfield street. Otherwise we suggest parking at the Cygnet Oval (access via Slab road) and walk down the steps to the green lawn behind the Gallery.
We so look forward to sharing time, song, fire and light with you at this Beltane crossing.
Mele & the Huon Women's Health Collective. xx
