Event description

Join Bosnian-Australian musician Dr Nela Trifkovic in a dynamic vocal workshop that introduces participants to Sevdah, the traditional vocal form from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sephardic Jewish Romances (secular women’s songs).

A vocal workshop for community musicians and professionals alike.

Learn about the grooves and rhythms of the repertoire through interactive physical exercises and body percussion, and delve into the melodic and harmonic lines of the songs.

Enjoy exploring a new world of language and song! The workshop commences with introductory language coaching, focusing on text of the song lyrics.

This workshop is free of charge and is offered by Dr Trifkovic as a part of the Resonant Heart Collective’s National Tour.
