Event description
SHIR Australian Jewish Music Festival (previously Shir Madness) presents Songs of Hope, an evening of music to unite, inspire and uplift our community. On the evening of October 6th, we are curating an opportunity for our entire kehilah to engage with deeply powerful Jewish music as a vehicle through which to mourn, reflect on the past year, find catharsis and emerge galvanised.
The evening will feature songs in English and Hebrew, many of which have formed the soundtrack to our lives over recent months.Â
We have brought together Sydney’s finest and most vocal Jewish musicians for this event, including:
- Simon Tedeschi - one of Australia’s best loved and most renowned pianists
- Ilan Kidron -Â multi-platinum certified, APRA Award winning singer/songwriter
- Sarit Michael - Australian-Israeli soul songstress
- CHUTNEY - critically acclaimed klezmer fusion band
- Noy Ben Ami
- Mordechai Levin
- Eden Shifroni
- Nikki Stanislav
We invite the community to join us for what promises to be a concert like no other: on the Sunday between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, this is a moment for us to gather proudly as a community in an iconic concert hall in the very heart of our city to express our Jewishness through music.
SHIR is proudly partnered with Shalom and NSW Jewish Board of Deputies.
