Songs of the Sea – The Miriam Lieberman Trio at OM House
Event description
"All lilting folk tunes overlaid with sprightly kora (West African harp), playful strings and dreamy three-part harmonies — as though Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon had convened in a Bamako back street."
— The Guardian, December 2021
Join the Miriam Lieberman Trio — Lara Goodridge and Susie Bishop — for a heart-warming evening of music in the serene surrounds of OM House, Bondi Beach.
Amidst the recording of a new album, Miriam brings her music home — to the coastline that has shaped and inspired so many of her songs. With long-time collaborators Lara and Susie, Miriam’s soulful voice, compositions on kora (West African harp), and the trio’s soaring harmonies weave stories of the sea, transformation, and the beauty of the natural world.
This concert will feature one continuous 60-minute set — an immersive journey of sound and storytelling. Please arrive early to settle in on your cushion or mat and enjoy the calm of this beautiful space before the music begins.
"Lieberman’s songs travel effortlessly across borders — uplifting, poignant and beautifully performed."
