MUYLATINA TAPLTI NAYRI (EMBRACING GOOD JOURNEYS)

Join the Lutruwita Art Orchestra and Dewayne Everettsmith on a journeying through ceremonial cultural sites: from sky country on Kunanyi down the South nipaluna (Hobart) watershed to Timtumili Minanya (River Derwent). This work evokes the spirit, memory and energy of Country through explorations of music inspired by site and interpreted by our diverse musicians.   

Muylatina Tapilti Nayri is presented over three nights in response to each performance site. Exact locations will be shared with ticket holders via email on Friday the 29th of November.   

Wednesday 4th December @ Kunanyi 6.30pm-7.15pm 

Thursday 5th December @ Nipaluna (South Hobart) 6.30pm-7.15pm 

Friday 6th December @ Nipaluna (Hobart CBD) 6.30pm-7.15pm   

Each ceremony will be unique. You can experience the full journey with us by purchasing a season pass for all three sessions, or you can purchase tickets to just one performance.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• We ask that you please bring your own chair, cushion or blanket to sit on. Showing up with a small contribution like seating is an important part of participating in ceremony.
• Weather is unpredictable this time of year - you are advised to bring warm and waterproof layers as all events are outside and will run rain, hail or shine.
• In the event of a total fire ban where the risk level is catastrophic the event may be cancelled, in which case your tickets will be refunded.
• This is a smoke free event.
• Limited parking will be available at each site - we encourage you to think about the environment and carpool, catch the bus, ride or walk to each event. We will be sending more information about getting there at least one week before the performance date.
• Each ceremony will be filmed and photographed for use in future promotional material. Your purchase of the ticket constitutes consent to be filmed. If you do not wish to be filmed/recorded please inform our friendly FOH staff prior to the commencement of the performance.
• Please note that as this is a cultural ceremony, some smoke from Eucalyptus leaves may be present prior to and throughout the ceremony.

ACCESSIBILITY

Accessible parking will be available at each site.

The first performance site is accessible via stairs or a short, sharp incline. Help will be on hand to assist with your mobility aids. Please note the ground where the first and second ceremonies occur is uneven - we encourage wearing flat shoes.

The second and third performance sites are fully wheelchair accessible.
