Our Songwriter’s Showcase shines a light on the region’s hidden musical gems.

Our third HVBH Songwriters’ Showcase is nearly here! Come discover—or rediscover—what we love about the Hudson Valley: Original music exquisitely performed by the artists themselves.

Our June showcase features three outstanding Hudson Valley performers: Becks Flatt, Kat Lee Rivers, and Osei Essed. Each will perform a 20-30 minute set. One ticket for all. Refreshments available for purchase.

We offer flex ticket pricing for this program: $10 to $25 here or at the door.

Songwriter performances take place on our stage four times a year. Our remaining 2025 dates are: Saturday, Sept. 20; and Friday, Dec. 5. About Becks Flatt

Singer/composer/multi-instrumentalist Becks has a B.A. in vocal performance from the University of North Texas with an emphasis on jazz and classical music. For the last 15 years, Becks has performed as a singer songwriter and recorded vocals for dozens of independent and commercial projects.

Becks also plays guitar, piano, clarinet, auxiliary percussion, and vibraphone.

Becks has shared the stage with Nick Waterhouse, Irma Thomas, BP Quartet, Tony Scherr, Michelle Casillas of Ursa Minor, Blue Coin, Zach Landreneau, Jovino Santos Neto, Renée Muzquiz of Chica y Los Gatos, Brad Allen Williams, members of Snarky Puppy and more…

About Kat Lee Rivers

Kat Lee Rivers spins tales straight from the heart, her voice weaving through a landscape of Americana, jazz, and the warm rhythms of Brazil. A finalist in the 2014 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Competition, she's got the chops, but it's the soul that shines through. Think porch-swing stories and late-night melodies, all delivered with a voice that'll stop you in your tracks. Kat plays piano, ukulele, bass and guitar.

About Osei Essed

Osei Essed is a multi-platform artist, whose recent composition credits include "Speak" (2025 Sundance debut) , "Creede, USA" (2025 SXSW debut) and "Becoming Katherine Graham" (Amazon).  Alongside his film work, Essed tours and performs with the New York-based bands Wolf Suit and Big Hands Rhythm and Blues Band.
