We welcome you to join us for an intimate Songwriters in the Round Concert coming to Kureelpa Hall on Friday 9th May featuring 8 x Golden Guitar award winning legend Allan Caswell, Australian/Fijian singer-songwriter Andrea Kirwin and USA born Americana/Country/Blues Artist Jen Mize. Doors open 6.30pm with Show starting at 7pm and will consist of two 1 hour sets with a 20 minute interval where the artists will go song for song and delve into some of the stories and inspirations behind their chosen songs. Kureelpa hall is a beautiful setting and please byo picnic dinner and we will have chairs and tables set up for you. This show is proudly presented independently by Peace Run Records and tickets are limited so please book in early and we will see you there! Please read below about each of the showcasing artists below;

ALLAN CASWELL

At the 2024 Golden Guitar Awards Allan Caswell received the ultimate accolade in Australian Country Music, when he was elevated to the Roll of Renown. This was in recognition of his huge contribution as a songwriter, artist, author, and record producer.
Caswell is easily Australia’s most recorded songwriter with over 980 of his songs being released around the world by artists of the calibre of Cilla Black, Patti Page, The Irish Rovers, Steve Earle, The Living End, Slim Dusty, Barry Humphries, Ricki May, James Blundell, McAlister Kemp, Graeme Connors, Anne Kirkpatrick, Chad Morgan, Lynne Hamilton, Beccy Cole, The Flying Emus, Bullamakanka, The Wolfe Brothers and Ella Hooper among dozens of others.

At the 2020 Golden Guitar Awards Allan Caswell picked up his 8 th Award … (with Manfred Vijars for Bush Ballad of the Year). This represents a huge span of 40 years from his first Award in 1980. In 1979 Caswell wrote the theme for the Australian television series “Prisoner” (Cell Block H in England) … “On The Inside” was a number 1 hit in Australia and New Zealand in 1979 and later reached number 3 in the UK and the Patti Page version made the country charts in the USA. After the success of “On The Inside” he went fulltime and has made a living writing and performing ever since. Caswell has won 8 Golden Guitars from 49 finalist nominations … he has also been awarded 17 songwriting Awards from the Tamworth Songwriters Association, including The Songmaker Award He has won 9 Awards at the Independent Country Music Awards (Southern Stars) including Album of The Year for 3 of his albums. He was also included in Tamworth’s Galaxy of Stars. He is the go-to cowriter for many of Australia’s top artists.

His performing career has taken him to virtually every town in NSW, every state in Australia, NZ, LA, New York, Nashville Texas, East Timor, Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan. At the end of 2020 Caswell formed Lynchburg with multi-instrumentalist Lindsay Waddington, resulting in 3 albums and a whole string of top 10 country hits. On Australia Day 2025 Caswell started his Really Long Goodbye Tour, where he intends to revisit the paces he has enjoyed playing at over the years.

ANDREA KIRWIN

Andrea Kirwin is an Australian/Fijian singer-songwriter local to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland but has recently been away on tour performing at Port Fairy Folk Festival, Blue Mountains Music Festival and Yackandandah Folk Festival. Having been writing, recording and performing for almost 20 years, Andrea has become a favourite local performer of many Sunshine Coast residents with her charming stage presence and her beautiful voice accompanied by her folk/jazz style of playing on acoustic guitar. Andrea has been working on new material and will be recording a new album in 2026 and she'll road test some of these new songs as part of the Songwriter's in the Round Concert series and looks forward to hosting the show and touring with these award winning artists! Andrea's previously received multiple Queensland Music award nominations and was a co-writer on the Children's song 'Love Everybody' alongside her good friend Nyssa Ray which took home Best Children's song for the QMAs in 2023.

JEN MIZE

Jen Mize, a powerhouse vocalist, and celebrated and respected songwriter, is also recognised as one of the foremost authorities on Americana/Alt-Country music in Australia. 

Jen Mize is a much loved and respected American singer-songwriter that has called the Sunshine Coast home for almost 20 years since moving here with her husband Ash and has been a regular and some of Australia's biggest Festivals including recent performances at Woodford Folk Festival and the last Caloundra Music Festival with her 8 piece band The Rough and Tumble. Jen has an unmistakable voice and style that has seen her gain radio play across Australia and has been busy releasing new music in the past year with multiple releases including 'Neon and Nothing Else', 'Swear Jar', 'My Buzz', 'Hoot n Holler' and 'Hail Mary' all released in the past year and is also currently recording her 2nd album with her band The Rough and Tumble. Jen is often mentoring up and coming songwriters with Masterclasses and Workshops at QUT, JMC and regional songwriting camps The DAG Sheep Station and USQ's prestigious MacGregor Summer School. She took home Best Blues n Roots Release at the recent Queensland Music Awards in 2024 and will be adding her stunning songs to the songwriter in the round concert hopefully with some bonus harmonies to boot!
