Event description

Unleash your inner voice, Join artist Naomi Keyte for a 2-hour masterclass in songwriting. In the session we will explore the creative voice and how to connect through the art of songwriting. 

This workshop will have a special collaborative element, with dance makers and songwriters having an opportunity to come together to share their work. We will spend the final part of the session sharing, learning from each other, and exploring how movement and sound work together to create a rich and exciting form of artistic expression 

The workshop will include:  

  • Gentle and accessible physical and vocal warmups (no prior experience necessary).  
  • Writing exercises to facilitate lyric writing.  
  • Methods of songwriting.  
  • Active listening to understand more about song construction.  
  • A chance to write a song alone or in a small group.  
  • An opportunity to share original songs as a way of creating community.  

Artist Bio: 
 
Adelaide based singer-songwriting Naomi Keyte is an accomplished and prolific performer with an interest in artistic diversity and passion for supporting other artists. Naomi Keyte uses the vehicle of contemporary folk music to explore multiple ways of connecting; connection to self, connection with others, and connection to personal and collective narratives; connection with audiences, rooms and places.
