Sonic Labyrinth
Event description
SONIC LABYRINTH WITH STEPH CHIU
This 2 hour event is inspired by the research project on music experience ‘Listen Up’ by psychologist and music behaviour researcher, Dr Amanda Krause and The Indigo Project that found links between active listening and healing.
“Our research provides evidence for the emotional and mental health benefits of focused music listening. This type of listening is unusual in today’s music landscape and provides opportunities for meaningful experiences”.
You’ll be invited to immerse yourself into the whole album Spaces by Nils Frahm, held with gentle vocal guidance.
Nils Frahm is a German musician, composer sitting between the classical and electronic world, known for hypnotic ambient, experimental and electronic soundscapes. Spaces is an ode to the joy of live performance.
In preparation to the sound journey, you will be guided through the set up of different restorative postures and the use of props to enhance and support you. The listening journey will be followed by a time to journal/write down your experience, and an opportunity to verbally share in small groups.
Everyone and every body is welcome.
Pillows, cushions, bolsters, blankets will be provided.
Wear comfortable clothes, bring a journal and pen for reflections, and any additional items for comfort.
