Access FAQs
As Carclew is a heritage-listed building, some restrictions apply; however, the team will do their best to provide support when requirements are communicated in advance. What are the transport and parking options for getting to and from the event? Carclew is located on the corner of Jeffcott Street and Strangways Terrace, North Adelaide. One clearly marked accessible car park is available within the grounds, offering direct access to the surrounding pathway on one side. Taxi drop-off can be arranged at the rear entrance, and reception staff can call a taxi on behalf of attendees. On-site parking within the Carclew House grounds is limited and reserved for staff. However, there is ample free on-street parking on Jeffcott Street and Strangways Terrace. Pathways surround three external sides of Carclew House, with pavers along Strangways Terrace and a sealed path along Jeffcott Street. Event-day parking restrictions may apply when major events are held at Adelaide Oval, often reducing parking time limits to two hours. Attendees are encouraged to check the Adelaide City Council website for up-to-date information. For those travelling by public transport, Carclew is Stop 3 on the 98C City & North Adelaide Loop. The bus stop on Jeffcott Street is directly outside the Carclew carpark and gate, with a driveway leading into the grounds. Useful links include: • Adelaide Metro free city service (stops directly outside Carclew) • From the Tram Stop at City West (North Terrace) • From North Adelaide Railway Station • From Adelaide Railway Station Accessibility at Carclew A wheelchair-accessible ramp is located at the back door closest to the accessible carpark, with a doorbell installed at accessible height. Ramp access is also available for the two outdoor toilets, and staff can place a temporary ramp over the front door stairs if required. External toilets are situated opposite the carpark entrance to the house; two are accessible, one includes a sanitary bin, and urinals are located on the opposite side. Assistance animals are welcome. A quiet space can be made available upon request.
