SORTEE Webinar – A Panel Discussion with Data Editors
Event description
In recent years, a handful of journals within Ecology, Evolutionary Biology and related fields have been trialing a Data Editor role within the peer-review process. Data editors focus their review on the data associated with a potential publication, with the overarching goal to improve the reliability and transparency of publications. But how does/should the data review process work? Has it been a success? Should all journals adopt such a step in their peer-review process? What should authors do to ensure their data passes a data review? To explore these questions and more, we have invited three data editors from three different evo/eco journals to take part in a panel discussion. We aim to facilitate a lively discussion that draws on the experience of the panel, and the interest and questions from the audience.
