Event description

Environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding provides data on the order of hundreds to thousands of taxa at once, giving people a glimpse into the ecological community that supports habitat functions. While eDNA is still time consuming and costly to generate, sharing eDNA data in common web-based platforms can help you derive information without needing as many samples of your own. In this webinar, I'll present new tools from CALeDNA and the eDNA Explorer that help model community diversity and species distribution with responsible data sharing. With data integration at our fingertips, what can we learn about how the environment supports or stresses communities, and what their functions are? We'll also discuss reasons for sharing and ways to do this that abide by FAIR or CARE principles.
