Soulfull: For the People, From the People
Description
Berkelouw Books are thrilled to be hosting the exclusive launch of Soulfull, the cookbook of community, storytelling and sustainability from the incredible Becca Bolton.
One book. Twelve original artworks. One very good cause.
More than just a cookbook, SOULFULL is a creative archive and cultural time capsule, bringing together 12 recipes, 12 original artworks, poetry, photography and the stories behind the meals.
The evening will include welcome drinks, book signings and a live auction of 12 one-of-a-kind original artworks in support of OzHarvest.
One book = 16 meals with OzHarvest.
How good is a book that actually does good? Soulfull is an independently published cookbook that lives somewhere between a creative archive and a cultural time capsule. More than just a list of ingredients, it's a celebration of the humans behind the meals. It's about memory, heritage, and that unpolished beauty you only find in a kitchen that's seen a few generations of cooking. Designed as an immersive editorial experience, Soulfull is the kind of book you leave on your coffee table to start a conversation, then take to the kitchen to start a meal.
Independently made in Australia as a cookbook and art publication, Soulfull brings together 12 recipes, 12 original artworks, four poems, photography and the personal stories carried through food including OzHarvest, Maggie Beer, Good & Fugly, Bush to Bowl, Kevala Ceramics and more. For every cookbook sold, 16 meals are donated to OzHarvest, providing food relief.
Join us to celebrate the launch of a very special project with many of the people who made it possible. Doors open at 5pm for a 5.30pm start, followed by an author discussion, live art auction, then guests will have an opportunity to mingle, meet the Soulfull team have their books signed. Refreshments will be provided.

Becca Bolton
I design with my heart on my sleeve and a responsibility to use creativity for people and planet. Designing for good, because I simply give a sh*t. I’ve built a few things. Held a lot more ideas than I’ve shipped. Some are still coming. Some didn’t make it. But I’m always building towards impact. My life’s work is Considered. A creative studio and ecosystem building brands for good — working with founders who want to create ethical, meaningful change through design. I’ve also built How Good. An impact store where every purchase donates to partners like OzHarvest and the Australian Marine Conservation Society. And Soufull... A publication and community exploring food, storytelling, and sustainability, evolving into {plentyfull}, a monthly ticketed long-lunch for good food and chef-takeovers. Basically...everything connects back to one idea: Design is a system. It can be used to create change.

OzHarvest - Charity Partner
OzHarvest was founded in 2004 by Ronni Kahn AO, after noticing the huge volume of food going to waste from her events business. Ronni did not set out to start a charity, rather just fix an obvious problem with a simple solution. Starting with one van in Sydney, she began rescuing food and delivering it to local charities. As OzHarvest grew, Ronni and a team of pro-bono lawyers lobbied state governments to amend legislation allowing potential food donors to give their surplus food to charities without fear of liability. The Civil Liabilities Amendment Act was passed in NSW in 2005 and other states followed. OzHarvest is now Australia’s leading food rescue organisation with a driving purpose to ‘Nourish our Country’. Our mission is to stop food waste, feed people in need and protect our planet by championing the value of food and driving change at all levels of society. The impact of our work is strongly aligned to achieving five United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We’re best known for our iconic yellow food rescue vans which save over 250 tonnes of good food every week from over 2,600 food donors and deliver it direct to over 1,500 charities that feed people in need. We also create positive change through three national education programs, and with our advocacy work raising awareness about food security and doing whatever we can to halve Australia’s food waste by 2030. Innovation is part of our DNA and we’re always looking to add value to what we do and find new ways to tackle food waste and feed hungry people. We’re pioneering social impact projects from free supermarkets and a restaurant that feeds people in need and creating revenue generating products via OzHarvest Ventures. Everyone at OzHarvest is driven by purpose and making an impact every day. It’s a mammoth team effort, made up of 350 devoted staff, a network of like-minded partners and over 3,000 passionate volunteers who live and breathe our message.
