A rainforest-based sound therapy and Shinrin-yoku experience

Step into a private pocket of Victorian temperate rainforest for a deeply restorative experience designed to support nervous system regulation, stress reduction, and sensory renewal.

This guided nature and sound immersion blends sound therapy with Shinrin-yoku (forest bathing)—an evidence-informed practice shown to activate the parasympathetic nervous system and support mental and physiological recovery. Held within a secluded, off-grid rainforest setting, this experience invites you to slow down, tune in, and reconnect with nature at a cellular level.

What to Expect

Your experience begins the moment you step into our Rainforest. Self-drive is available for those with an AWD/4WD. Or arrive via our free shuttle, the Forest Bus, with pick-up at Belgrave Train Station (2pm) or Olinda oval (2:15pm). By 2:30pm, you’ll arrive at ThinkSpring in Olinda, nestled within native temperate rainforest.

After a short welcome and briefing from your facilitator, you’ll begin your nature immersion immediately. A 100-metre downhill walk along a gravel driveway, leads you to the Inside-Out Room—a clear marquee set within the forest, offering uninterrupted views of trees, sky, and birdsong.

You’ll be welcomed by our Sound Healer who will guide you through the 1-hour sound immersion session. Before you settle into the sound session you will have time to soak in the forest and access to bathroom facilities. As healing sound frequencies move through the space, the transparent walls and ceiling create the sensation of floating within the rainforest itself—supporting deep relaxation, sensory regulation, and nervous system downshifting.

Following the sound session, enjoy spacious, unstructured time to:

• Sip on your complimentary herbal tea

• Eat your packed lunch or snacks

• Wander forest paths and forest bathe, guided if you you wish

• Meditate in the nature immersion zone

• Sit quietly in the sun or shade

• Journal, sketch, or create art (materials provided)

• Rest, nap, or simply be

The Forest Bus departs at 5:30pm, with drop-off at your pick-up location of Belgrave Train Station or Olinda Oval.
