Sounds of Sacred Sanskrit Mantra: Oṁ Namo Nārāyaṇi

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Experience the specific mouth placements and vowel lengths to more precisely chant the sacred sounds invoking the Divine feminine: Oṁ Namo Nārāyaṇi

In this mantra there are two different ways to pronounce the 'n' sound. You'll gain an experiential feeling for each of the mouth positions, which invoke different energies, and correlate to different energy points in our 'body of sound' and cakral petals.

You'll gain an understanding of the overall five mouth placements, and how to interpret the specific markings used in the romanised alphabet to write this mantra which are from the International Alphabet of Sanskrit Transliteration. You'll also start to develop an understanding on what the markings represent which brings a clarity to the distinct mouth placements involved as well as the duration of the sounds.

Altering the duration of the sounds can alter the meaning of the word you are chanting, so being more specific can help connect us more directly with the energy we are intending to invoke.

This will be a fun, experiential session which will conclude with a group chant experience online. I hope you can join me.
