Event description

Enjoy not 1, not 2, but 3 wonderful Blue Mountains Choirs.

These choirs are joining together to share their love and joy of music with us, as well as to raise funds for the charity "Shared Reading" who work locally in the Blue Mountains to combat social isolation through a reading program.

Moo Choir is a community choir based in Warrimoo that sings a range of gospel, pop, contemporary, and occasionally classical songs. Moo is an acapella SATB choir that shares the joy of music making, Choir Director Rowen Fox brings light and joy into the world of song and harmony.

The Heathens

What do you call someone who lives in Blackheath and sings? A ‘Heathen of course! We are an inclusive and welcoming community choir based in the heart of the Blue Mountains world heritage listed national park. The choir was founded in 2009 by Christine Wheeler and is currently co-directed by Christine and Rowen Fox.

The choir is unauditioned and welcomes the opportunity to offer all comers the chance to enjoy making good music together. The Heathens are regularly invited to perform at a range of festivals and community events in the Blue Mountains.

Crowd Around Choir is well established in the Mid Mountains and has been directed by Kate Swadling for many years. Currently Rob Maxwell Jones also directs the Choir with Kate. Repertoire is varied (great pop songs, fun African, beautiful folk, rousing songs of solidarity) and chosen carefully to suit this group of people. The aim – to enjoy a good sing and sound great together.
