South Australian Algal Bloom Community Forum – Victor Harbor
Event description
You're Invited: South Australian algal bloom community forums
Join us at one of a series of statewide community forums during August and September to hear directly from experts, leaders and locals about South Australia's response to the algal bloom affecting our coastline.
Forums will be held across regional coastal areas including the Fleurieu Peninsula, Coorong, Kangaroo Island, Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, the Limestone Coast, and metropolitan coastal areas including Brighton, Seacliff, Henley Beach, Semaphore and Port Noarlunga.
Each forum will feature expert presentations on algal bloom science, public health advice and safety, and include an expert panel Q&A.
You’ll hear from leaders such as Premier Peter Malinauskas, Deputy Premier Susan Close, Chief Public Health Officer Professor Nicola Spurrier, and SARDI’s Professor Mike Steer.
There will be opportunities for attendees to share insights and ask questions.
Forums are free and open to the public.
Registration is essential due to venue capacity.
These forums form part of the state and federal governments’ $28 million crisis response package to address the algal bloom impacting the South Australian coastline.
