Whyalla – South Australian Algal Bloom Community Forum
Event description
You're Invited: South Australian algal bloom community forums
Join us at a series of statewide community forums during August and September to hear directly from experts, leaders and locals about South Australia's response to the algal bloom affecting our coastline.
Forums will be held across regional coastal areas including the Coorong, Kangaroo Island, Whyalla, Yorke Peninsula and Port Lincoln, and metropolitan coastal areas including Brighton, Seacliff, Henley Beach, Port Adelaide and Port Noarlunga.
You’ll hear from leaders such as Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development, the Hon Clare Scriven, Chief Public Health Officer Professor Nicola Spurrier, and SARDI’s Professor Mike Steer.
Each forum will feature expert presentations on algal bloom science, public health advice and safety, and include an expert panel Q&A.
There will be opportunities for attendees to share insights and ask questions.
Forums are free and open to the public.
Registrations are essential due to venue capacity.
These forums form part of the state and federal governments’ $28 million crisis response package to address the algal bloom impacting the South Australian coastline.
