About the AKC artsbus:
Artists for Kids Culture (AKC) is a registered charity that designs and creates opportunities for a new generation to emerge with creative confidence. We aim to inspire children to use the arts to challenge themselves, build belief in their own creativity and improve their wellbeing.
The AKC artsbus is a mobile arts studio, theatre and music space that brings creative activities directly to children who might otherwise miss out. For nearly six years, the artsbus has been bringing creativity directly to the Park Towers estate in South Melbourne with free regular after-school programs.
An opportunity to see the artsbus in action:
The artsbus has been recently selected by Humanitix to receive a portion of ticket sales from the Tomorrowland Festival coming to Melbourne on Saturday November 28th. These funds will support the artsbus to stay on the road and keep bringing programs in 2027 to kids in the community.
The 'Fun Day' is an opportunity for new families to try out the artsbus program and for our supporters of the artsbus to see the program in action!
The Fun Day will be made possible with:
AKC artsbus Facilitators, including Arts Therapists - Gen Townsend and Catalina Leon Londono
Guest Artist, Opal, facilitating puppet play
artsbus volunteers - including a range of artists, students, and creatives with appropriate training and child safe background checks. Volunteers will also be helping to photograph on the day
Photographer and Videographers, which may include a news crew (to be confirmed!)
AKC Director, Kylie Greer and representative from Humanitix, Sam
PLUS the incredible young artists who have been attending the program regularly, their friends and new families joining too!
Tickets for good, not greed Humanitix dedicates 100% of profits from booking fees to charity
