ABC online event with Natalie Bassingthwaighte; can creativity help mental wellbeing?
Event description
Can creativity help mental wellbeing?
In support of the ABC’s upcoming factual series Space 22 please join us, along with an expert panel to discuss the important role the arts can play in supporting mental health and wellbeing.
Space 22 is a bold new six-part Australian-first documentary series, exploring the impact art and creativity can have on mental health. Led by acclaimed singer and performer Natalie Bassingthwaighte, who has faced her own mental health challenges, the series premieres on Tuesday 17 May, at 8pm on ABC TV and ABC iview.
Amidst Australia’s worsening mental health crisis, Space 22 looks at the growing call for art as a social prescription to support mental health care.
Join Julie Hanna, ABC Manager of Factual and Teri Calder, ABC Executive Producer of Impact and Partnerships to find out more about the series and accompanying impact campaign.
This will be followed by a conversation moderated by Sana Qadar, Host and Producer of ABC Radio National's All In The Mind with expert panellists:
- Natalie Bassingthwaighte - Singer, Performer & Host of Space 22
- Katherine Boydell -Â Professor of Mental Health, Black Dog InstituteÂ
- Georgie McClean - Executive Director, Development and Strategic Partnerships, Australia Council for the Arts
- Rachel Green, Chief Executive Officer of SANE Australia
