Description

Australian businesses name AI security and sovereignty as their biggest concern in 2026, in the midst of heated debate across the country on the future of AI regulation and infrastructure.

Does Australia risk falling behind in the AI race? What would be the cost to our sovereign capability and terms of trade?

As part of the 2026 Spark Festival, join parliamentary and industry leaders at NSW Parliament House as we tackle the big questions that the Australian public debate is missing.

Where: NSW Parliament House, Macquarie Street

When: Doors at 7:45am for an 8:15am start – please note latecomers will not be admitted past 8:15am

Registration: Compulsory due to Parliament House security; you will not be admitted if you have not registered

Bring: Your passport or drivers' licence for check-in at Parliament House

Convened by the bipartisan Parliamentary Friends of Innovators, Ventures, Entrepreneurs and Technology (INVENT).

The Parliamentary Friends of INVENT was launched in November 2025. Through this group, the Spark Foundation helps parliamentarians of all stripes engage with the startup ecosystem and understand the policy needs of our tech sector as it evolves.
