Description

What changes when we stop trying to fit someone else’s version of success and start leaning into who we were made to be?

Join us for Spark Women: Lead Like Dolly, an encouraging, practical panel discussion with clear takeaways for authentic leadership at work, at home, and in the communities we serve.

Inspired by Dolly Parton’s unmistakable ability to be fully herself while creating meaningful impact, we’ll explore how owning your strengths, story, values, and unique way of showing up can open doors for you and the people around you. You’ll leave with fresh perspective on how to lead with greater confidence, help your team do the same, and create work that feels aligned with who you are.

Whether you lead a team, are building something of your own, or are navigating what’s next, this conversation is for you.

Lunch is included, and Spark Women is free to attend.

As a fundraiser for Dolly's Imagination Library, we will be selling Lead Like Dolly sweatshirts for $40 with 50% of proceeds going to the charity.

Bring a friend or coworker who would enjoy the conversation, and come ready to lean into what makes you, you. While Spark Women centers women’s leadership, men are always welcome at our events. We especially invite friends joining us from Startup Mountain Summit to connect, learn, and be part of the conversation.

Spark Women is for businesswomen across the Appalachian Highlands who want to connect with other amazing women and discover meaningful opportunities for professional growth. Together, we grow professionally, live locally, and make our mark.

Meet our Panelists:

Shannon Castillo is a native of Ohio and a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Milligan College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Communications. She served on the board for the Johnson City Development Authority, and is currently a board member for the Convention and Visitor's Bureau for Johnson City, TN. She was also recognized as a 40 Under Forty recipient by the Business Journal of Tri-Cities, TN/VA. She has lived in Johnson City for nearly 30 years with her husband and their two daughters. She loves Downtown Johnson City, throwing epic Halloween costume parties, and renovating her 1890's era home.

Beth Jenks is a pharmacist with 17 years of experience and co-owner of ProCompounding Pharmacy, a compounding pharmacy that's been serving patients since 1936 and now ships to all 50 states. Along the way she's become a specialist in compounded medications, especially bioidentical hormones, but what she really loves is building businesses. She co-founded getITprescribed, a telehealth platform that's already serving patients, and ZyNori Health, a women's hormone health brand launching soon.

Jessica Patrone has 25 years of compounding under her belt, and she's co-owner and CEO of ProCompounding Pharmacy, which has been making medications since 1936. She's a formulation ninja who can turn "that medication doesn't exist" into "pick it up Thursday," and when the professionals need someone who actually knows how it's done, they call Jessica. She's just as dangerous at business development and has been known to turn a quick meeting into a partnership before her beloved Diet Mountain Dew goes flat. Like Dolly, she works 9 to 5 (really 7 to 9), and she co-founded getITprescribed and ZyNori Health, all without ever once being seen without her mortar and pestle.

Wisty Pender serves as Program and Operations Administrator in the Office of Innovation at the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, where she works at the intersection of small business growth, entrepreneurship, and community and economic development. In this role, she supports statewide initiatives that connect small and underutilized businesses, entrepreneurs, and communities to capital, technical assistance, partnerships, and other resources for growth. Drawing on experience across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, as well as firsthand experience as a small business owner, Wisty is known for building partnerships, creating practical tools and programs, and helping ideas move from concept to action. She is especially passionate about expanding opportunity, strengthening systems, and reducing barriers so more businesses and communities can thrive.
