Travel instructions

From Morilla St in Lightning Ridge, turn south onto 3 Mile Road. Follow the brown AOC HERITAGE SHED signs (yellow car door route) for 4.1km until you see a large cream-coloured shed. You've arrived! Please follow any parking instructions on site. You can also find the AOC Black Opal Heritage Shed on Google Maps. No public transport is available. If you need a lift, contact us 48 hours prior to your screening and we will assist if we are able.

Entry instructions

Please arrive well before 6.30, so your headlights do not interrupt the screening. On arrival, park your vehicle then walk into the Black Opal Heritage Shed to check your ticket, view the Brilliant Ideas exhibition, sign the visitor book or purchase souvenirs.

After entry instructions

Find yourself a seat outside any time before the screening commences. You're welcome to arrive early, or stay on while our crew packs up afterwards, to enjoy the location.

Hazards

Some uneven surfaces Low light levels (please bring a torch) A note for people with reduced sight or hearing: SPARK is a rich site-specific visual and auditory experience, held outdoors with the sky overhead and opal field life - its sights, sounds and scents - all around. While we can't yet provide the accessibility enhancements we'd like to offer you, there's lots to experience. There is ample space for wheelchair seating. Wheelchair users, please contact us prior to the screening so we can assist with parking and seating. If you have concerns about hazards, please contact us and we will assist if we are able.

Toilet location

There is no accessible toilet at this venue yet. We apologise for any inconvenience. SPARK is held in an off-grid location in the opal fields. Two toilets are available: a composting toilet and a chemical portaloo.
