Join us for the 11th Spring Intercultural Champion Awards Ceremony & Luncheon on June 18th

The theme of our 2025 event is “Sparking Success: Celebrating Triumphs of Colorado’s Newcomers.” This gathering of 150+ Coloradans will celebrate our state’s intercultural welcoming community, recognize the tremendous accomplishments and contributions of diverse immigrants and refugees, and honor these awardees who are doing remarkable work uplifting the talents and skills of newcomers:

2025 Spring Intercultural Champions


Our 2025 awardees are:

  • Denver Councilwoman Jamie Torres, who was elected to the Denver City Council representing District 3 in July 2019 and previously was Director of Denver’s Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs.
  • The Village Institute, a nonprofit organization that provides holistic family support services for refugee and immigrant families in Northwest Aurora.
  • Ms. Dania Mohammed, who was a pharmacist in her native Sudan and has been a participant in Spring Institute’s Colorado Welcome Back program for several years. She was accepted into the highly competitive Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Colorado where she is on track to graduate and resume her career as a pharmacist in Colorado.
