“Media has an enormous amount of tech but what was being left behind was the people, who were trying to manage the tech” and that’s where we step in - says Karen Dewey founder of tech scale up Lumi Media.

“I had no intention, of becoming a founder. I basically had a simple idea one day and just ran with it” says Karen Dewey. Lumi Media is a digital workplace that is taking the production sector in media by storm.

In the Golden Age of content this scale up is on the forefront in assisting with the evolution of the workplace. “People didn’t know, they were looking for us” says Karen Dewey but as her brainchild soars to new heights they now do.

At today’s event Karen will explain how Lumi Media is changing the way of the workplace, her unique business model and how she and her co-founders navigated the complex start-up world.

Karen is one of Australia's leading screen producers with experience in documentary, factual, entertainment and reality television. She has produced, created and supervised programs for all the Australian broadcasters - networks 9,10,7, the ABC and SBS. Karen is a skilled and innovative "showrunner" and systems leader. She is adept at managing big teams and tight deadlines and is a specialist in casting and development. Karen is passionate about the potential of the Lumi platform to help creative, event and screen production companies in Australia and around the world to work better together.
