    Event description

    Join Anti-Slavery Australia in Canberra for a free training on identifying, preventing and responding to forced marriage.

    Frontline workers will learn good practices informed by Anti-Slavery Australia's research with frontline workers and young people, its 20 years of frontline experience, and the lived experience of survivors.

    The training will include case studies, interactive activities, group discussions and networking opportunities to build a stronger response to forced marriage and other forms of modern slavery in the ACT.

    Key topics will include:
    • What forced marriage is and how it can happen in Australia
    • Common signs and indicators of forced marriage
    • Supporting people affected by forced marriage
    • Specialist referral pathways in Australia
    • Prevention within families and communities


    Participants will be provided with:
    • Free copies of our Frontline Worker Guide and workbook
    • Free copies of our forced marriage posters, flyers and other resources for the community
    • Light refreshments

    Places are limited so please register as soon as possible. There is also the option to attend online.
