I wish I could download your mind!
I’ve learned a LOT…Carers can be empowered to ask questions. I have been inspired by personal stories and by what you are doing!

Young people have their own internal challenges, and the mental health and education systems designed to support them don’t always listen or provide neurodivergent-friendly spaces.
Young people are often in ‘survival brain’ mode, limiting their engagement with people and services.
This peer-led workshop will provide attendees with practical skills, knowledge, and resources to ease the tension and build a better understanding around communicating with young people. You will meet other parents, families, carers and kin who are all facing similar experiences.

At a time when I was starting to lose hope and felt particularly isolated, the workshop environment was inclusive, supportive and leaders & other attendees share advice and compassionate understanding
I was very impressed with the workshop as it was interactive unlike others I've attended. Please include me in any more coming up. Much appreciate the insights and connection you gave and made for us.
If supporting your child or young person feels complex because you're struggling to find the right help, navigate services or understand what support is available, this workshop is likely for you.
Families attending may be navigating experiences such as:
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Autism
• ADHD
• Eating disorders
• School refusal
• Early psychosis
• Or other mental health challenges.
That's completely okay.
We know attending something new can feel daunting. You're welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable throughout the workshop. Many people arrive feeling nervous, and there is no expectation to have all the answers or share more than you're ready to.
Here's what you can expect:
✔ A warm, welcoming and supportive environment
✔ Facilitated by parents and carers with lived experience
✔ Share as much or as little as you feel comfortable
✔ Everyone participates respectfully, recognising every family's journey is different
✔ No clinical assessments, diagnoses or formal interventions
✔ Practical strategies, helpful resources and genuine connection with other families
Absolutely. We recognise that many parents, carers and family members wear multiple hats in life and also work in healthcare, education, disability or community services.
Resilience in Reach workshops are designed as peer-led spaces, so we simply ask that attendees join us in their lived experience role as a parent, carer, family member or kin, and leave their professional hat at the door for the day.
If you are looking to attend primarily for professional development or training purposes, please contact our team to discuss the most appropriate opportunities for your needs:

Our workshops are facilitated by parents and carers with lived experience of supporting a child or young person with complex mental health. They understand the challenges because they have walked similar paths themselves.
