Speaking Up without Shutting Down
Event description
About
If we want to create a world where racism no longer thrives, we must examine how we show up when conversations get hard. Too often, the very moments that matter most are the ones where we lose our grounding—when emotions rise, voices shut down, and the opportunity for understanding slips away.
This workshop is about leading with purpose. It’s about recognizing the ways we unintentionally derail progress—by reacting instead of responding, speaking without listening, or pulling back when the conversation feels uncomfortable. Through reflection, dialogue, and practice, you’ll learn strategies to stay present, repair relationships when harm happens, and foster authentic connection—even in tense moments.
Over two transformative days, you will:
Anchor yourself in Foundational Beliefs when conversations become challenging.
Spot patterns in your responses that may unintentionally block progress.
Recognize emotional triggers and regulate in the moment to stay effective.
Build your confidence to lead tough conversations that strengthen trust and center belonging.
Develop tools to invite connection and deepen understanding.
Learn strategies to navigate conflict in ways that reduce defensiveness.
This isn’t just a workshop—it’s a journey of self-discovery, courage, and accountability. It’s an opportunity to grow into the kind of leader these conversations need.
