Special Olympics WA – UNIFIED® Walking Netball – Term 1, 2025
Who:
This program is for everyone! There are two types of people who join:
- Athletes are people with intellectual disabilities.
- Partners are people without intellectual disabilities.
Athletes and partners play together on the same team. You will play netball, make friends, and have fun while learning about inclusion and teamwork through Unified Sports.
What:
A 9-week Unified Walking Netball program where athletes and partners play as a team. Walking Netball is a fun, inclusive, and accessible version of netball that removes running and jumping, making it perfect for all fitness levels. Unified Sports teams include both athletes and partners, promoting inclusion, teamwork, and friendship.
When:
- Every Sunday for 9 Weeks
- Starts Sunday, 9 February – Ends Sunday, 6 April
- Time: 10:30AM to 12:00PM each week
- Volunteer briefing: 10am
- Athlete Check-in: 10:15am
- On court: 10:30am

Cockburn ARC

Why:
To have fun playing netball, meet new friends, and be part of a team that celebrates everyone’s abilities. Unified Sports bring people together, help break down barriers, and create a space for respect and inclusion.

How Much:
Come and Try for FREE - Sunday February 9th and 16th - Registration required
$35 for remaining 7 weeks ($5 per session)
Special Offers and Important Information:
- We ask everyone to complete a survey at the start and end of the program.
- Paper copies of the survey and assistance will be available at the venue.
What to Bring for Walking Netball:
- Comfortable Clothing: Wear activewear that allows you to move freely.
- Supportive Sneakers: Ensure you wear appropriate footwear for indoor or outdoor courts.
- Water Bottle: Stay hydrated during the session.
- Positive Attitude: Bring your enthusiasm and get ready to have fun!
